Sing with the Thames Valley Chorus

The more than 60 men who make up the Thames Valley Chorus sing an exciting selection of four-part close harmony songs some of which are set to thrilling choreography - an approach that sets us apart from conventional choral groups and men’s choirs. Our fabulous repertoire of ballads and up-tempo songs range from old love songs to Broadway hits guaranteeing high quality entertainment at events and functions both large and small. Listen to a selection of the awesome sounds we make on the Hear Us & Book Us page or visit our CD Sales web page to buy a permanent collection.

What you are now

What you can become!

Thames Valley Chorus is the main performing choir of the Reading Barbershop Harmony Club and is one of the top men’s a cappella choirs of its type in the UK. Our singers have consistently been placed in the top five of the UK National Championships for the past decade, and we have won two Gold Awards in Europe in recent years. We occasionally sing at very large events such as appearing on TV with Robbie Williams, at an International Rotary Convention in Eastbourne, and touring Duesseldorf as part of the Reading Twinning initiative. However, we mostly sing in shows at local theatres, festivals, charity concerts and even weddings. Look in on our Events page to see what we get up to.

Free singing course Members come from all over the Thames Valley area and we are always looking to recruit good singers to join the Chorus. You don't necessarily have to be able to read music because we have easy methods of learning songs and our music coaches will help to find the right voice-part for you. However, you do need to be able to sing in tune and have a face that shows you enjoy singing! If you would like to find out more about the Club and what we do, come along to a Chorus rehearsal any Tuesday evening between 7.45 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. at the The Piggott School, Wargrave Road, Twyford, Reading RG10 8DS (map) Alternatively, go to our Contacts page and get in touch with the Membership and Recruitment Organiser whose details are listed there.

Occasionally we run a free "Men In Harmony" singing course which lasts for six weeks. Criteria for attending is as mentioned above (i.e. be able to sing in tune). The courses are held at The Piggott School and they often conclude with a Concert for friends and family.
