Anne Fairbrother

Anne Fairbrother, MD for Thames Valley Chorus
Anne Fairbrother has taken on the role of Musical Director for the Chorus.
Anne joins us having moved back to the Thames Valley from London, bringing lots of experience of directing large choirs. She has run Popchoir in north London, run employee choirs for Marriott Hotels, and directed The Finches choir. She is also a singing teacher. She has a Music degree and a Masters degree in Music from University of Surrey,

We are looking forward to the challenges that she will bring to improve our performance over the years to come.








Assistant Chorus Director - Alex de Bruin

Alex has been singing barbershop music since school, and was an inaugural member of The University of Bristol Barbershop Singers (TUBBS). He entered the world of "real" barbershop in 2009, following a workshop run for TUBBS by the Great Western Chorus of Bristol (GWC). With GWC, Alex has won 3 national gold medals and has had the honour of representing the country at the international barbershop contest 3 times. He is also a certified Music Category judge with the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers. Good job his wife is also a barbershopper! Outside of music, Alex is a research scientist for a large chemicals firm, where he helps design catalysts for cars and trucks.
